The Ota Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force has continued its observance of the 2026 National Police Week with a public and drivers’ sensitization programme held across the Sango Ota axis on April 1, 2026. The event aimed to educate drivers and the public on personal safety, crime prevention, and the importance of reporting suspicious activities to the police.

Officers engaged directly with residents, providing practical guidance on staying safe and contributing to a more secure society. A special session was organized for drivers and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Sango Ota chapter, focusing on road safety and responsible conduct.

The Area Commander, ACP Shola Oladele, emphasized the importance of public enlightenment in effective policing, urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperative with the police. Gift items were distributed to members of the public as part of community engagement efforts, reinforcing goodwill and strengthening police-community relations.

The Chairman of NURTW, Sango Ota chapter, praised the initiative, thanking the police for their efforts and urging drivers to update their vehicle documents and obey traffic regulations.
