Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has reiterated the call for Nigerians to vote for candidates of the the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections especially the Presidential Candidate of the Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.

The Deputy Governor who gave the charge while speaking at the Police College, Ikeja after a Walk tagged “Eko Youth Walk for Tinubu, Shettima, Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat” said it is important that come next February, Nigerians must come out en-masse to march Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Sen. Kashim Shettima to Aso Rock.

Dr. Hamzat said that the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, who was a former Governor of Lagos State, laid the solid foundation for the development of the state upon which successive administrations built upon for a better and greater Lagos.

He said, “In Lagos, Asiwaju laid the foundation for development of the state and all other preceding governors, including the incumbent, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have done a wonderful job in Lagos.

Speaking on the success track record of Asiwaju, Dr. Kadri added that Asiwaju placed a great antecedents which has made the state habitable for everyone in respective of the tribe, he said “Lagos is good for all of us and this is because some people worked hard, let us now support the man that manages the process by ensuring that he matches to Aso Rock as President”.

The Deputy Governor noted that Asiwaju has shown his manifesto to Nigerians and the ability for this country to create more jobs, provide high paying jobs to the Nigerian Youths, boost the economy and secure the country from those who want to cause the nation harm. Saying “Asiwaju and Shettima have given us that template. As he has been able to build Lagos, he will build Nigeria”.

In his remarks, Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr. Edward Onoja urged Lagosians to deliver at least four million votes for the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; as Lagos has the highest number of registered voters in the country.

He said, “Lagos has over twenty million people, over seven million people registered voted, the highest registered voters in the thirty-six states and the FCT, Lagos should give at least four million votes to Asiwaju”.

He reiterated that the road to a better Nigeria lies before all Nigerians and therefore advised Nigerians to collectively renew our strength for a better country.

Also speaking at the event, the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi noted that the forthcoming election is very critical to all Nigerians, importantly to the youth of the country.

He said that the state has given room to youth in governance by increasing the numbers of councilors from 245 in 1999 to 376 and have created job opportunities for more youths in government establishments across the state.

He commended the youth for their participation at the walk adding that with that, they have shown that they are part of the process of building a new nation, growing the economy and banishing insecurity in the nation. He therefore urged the youths to votes wisely for the Presidential Candidate of the Party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the forthcoming general election.

In her goodwill message, the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu charged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voters Cards and Vote for the APC Candidates in the 2023 General Election that the party will give them greater representation.
