81 DIVISION DEEPENS LOGISTICS SYNERGY AS GOC APPLAUDS NACST FOR STRATEGIC SUPPORT

The Nigerian Army’s 81 Division is reinforcing its operational backbone through stronger collaboration with the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST), following high-level engagements at the Division’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.

In a statement released by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 81 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the General Officer Commanding, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, commended NACST for its consistent and exceptional logistical support, describing the Corps’ contributions as central to the Division’s successful execution of assigned tasks.

During the visit, the GOC highlighted the Corps’ steady provision of drivers, catering services and other essential logistics that have strengthened 81 Division’s operational effectiveness. He also congratulated Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya on his appointment as Commander, Corps of Supply and Transport, noting that the Division has benefited from the professionalism and commitment of the officers and soldiers under his command.

Major General Mijinyawa reaffirmed his satisfaction with the existing relationship between 81 Division and NACST and signaled readiness to further consolidate the cooperation.

For his part, Major General Shagaya emphasized that his visit was aimed at enhancing familiarity and reinforcing long-standing synergy between both formations. He outlined several ongoing initiatives designed to reposition NACST for even greater efficiency and encouraged 81 Division to leverage the opportunities these programmes provide. He also expressed appreciation for the Division’s reception and assured continued support.

The visit brought together senior staff officers from both headquarters and featured ceremonial activities including signing of the visitors’ book, exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph.
