The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, has restated the Division’s dedication to strengthening inter-agency collaboration, particularly with the Nigerian Air Force, to enhance security across Lagos and Ogun States. He made this known on 3rd December 2025, while receiving the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command, Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Suleh, during a courtesy visit to the Division’s Headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.
In a statement released by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 81 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the GOC noted that the prevailing stability within the Division’s Area of Responsibility is the result of sustained synergy among the Armed Forces and various security agencies. He described Lagos and Ogun as strategic economic corridors whose uninterrupted security is essential for investor confidence, commercial vibrancy, and national development.
Major General Mijinyawa reaffirmed that the Nigerian Army remains committed to deepening cooperation, intelligence sharing, and joint operational readiness with the Nigerian Air Force. He congratulated Air Vice Marshal Suleh on his appointment as AOC Logistics Command and expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen the long-standing partnership between both services.
Air Vice Marshal Suleh, in his remarks, emphasized that his courtesy visit was aimed at reinforcing the existing bond between the Army and the Air Force. He assured that the Nigerian Air Force would continue to provide critical air support, logistics backing and operational assistance to boost the Division’s effectiveness and overall national security architecture.
The visit concluded with the signing of the Visitors’ Book, an exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph, symbolic gestures that underscored the renewed commitment to enhanced synergy between the two security institutions.
