The Bayelsa government has reaffirmed its dedication to providing adequate funding for the educational sector, in order to benefit upcoming generations.
The closing ceremony of the 2022 Summer Class, Coding and Robotics Holiday Camping, for selected senior secondary students featured remarks from Gentle Emelah, the Commissioner for Education.
The commissioner, who was accompanied by the permanent secretary, Christopher Ewhrudjakpo, described the program as well-intentioned.
He declared that the administration of Governor Duoye Diri-led would make every effort to develop laws that would guarantee the public access to high-quality education.
Mr. Emelah urged the camp participants to take advantage of the lessons to expand their understanding of robotics and coding.
The Bayelsa Education Development Trust Fund (BEDTF), which organized the holiday camping program, received praise from the commissioner.
He also exhorted the students to use the program to get ready for the JAMB, NECO, and WAEC exams.
Additionally speaking, Alice Atuwo, executive secretary of the BEDTF, stated that the program’s goal was to develop a new generation of intellectuals at the secondary school level.

Adolphus Forcados, Special Adviser to the Governor on Secondary Education, praised BEDTF for organizing the event in a message of goodwill.
The student who won the camping’s overall competition, Sunday Blessing of the Ijaw National Academy, urged her fellow campers to invest more time in their studies.
The BEDTF was established in 2017 to raise Bayelsa’s educational standards.
