The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa has promised financial reward for information on persons hoarding naira notes.

While answering questions from State House correspondents after his visit to President Buhari’s office Thursday afternoon, Bawa urged Nigerians to report anyone with hidden money to the commission, and also promised a 5 percent reward to whistleblowers.

Bawa also said that the proposed redesigning of the nation’s currency is a step in the right direction as this exercise will control money supply and aid security agencies in tackling illicit financial flows.
Meanwhile, over 3,000 cases of cyber crimes have been prosecuted by the EFCC between 2020 and now.
