Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has called on Nigerians to ensure that they contribute their quota in the development of the country as everyone has their roles to play.
The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat at the Mass of the Resurrection Funeral Mass, in memory of the Late Ms. Peace Marie Ogechi Anyiam-Osigwe held today at St. Dominics Catholic Church, Yaba, Lagos said everyone has a role to play and should ensure that they play it.
Speaking on the deceased, Sanwo-Olu said that the Late Ms. Peace Marie Ogechi Anyiam-Osigwe was part of the professional in the entertainment industry that anchored the training of young people and ensured that they had the right skills, from photography, scripting amongst other skills.
The Governor noted that most of the problems being faced in the country start from the kind of parenting given to the children, he asked “How do we raise our children, How do we contribute to the development of our country”?
He noted that the entertainment industry has contributed to the development of the country, adding “that across the country, entertainment has proven to have contributed morally, socially amongst other ways in the country”.
He added that it is for this reason that the government has worked together with the industry to train over eight hundred thousand residents from Alimosho to Agege”.
Earlier in his sermon, the Officiating Priest, Vicar, General Archdiocese of Lagos, Rt. Reverend Dr. John K. Aniagwu said that the deceased was a Christian who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He said, “Peace was someone who lived and died believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, therefore, I have every reason to believe that she is a beneficiary of the promise Jesus made to Martha, adding that she will rise again”.
He stated that the accomplishment of the Late Ms. Anyiam-Osigwe supersedes her age which can be seen in Nigeria, the continent, and the world.
