Dr.Tope Alakija, a senior lecturer department of statistics, Yaba College Of Technology, Spoke on the effect of mental health impact in social media use both positively and negatively.

She said it has been very good in propagating positive values for research, linking people of like minds and information and also some people have used it to bully, manipulate and stream negative content. She advocated for parental control for their children and wards on social media space. For every person, time and impact should be deliberate the mindful to mitigate undue influence on other parts of their lives.

She said that on the whole Afree was designed to bring like-minded people together with the reduction of censorship on their content.

The Managing Director of Lagos Minds, a tech hub, Ms. Ejiro Oghene, also spoke on ways to have positive time to create a healthy mind approach towards the use of social media.

There were several display of the rich African culture through dances and a question and answer session for the attending youth and students. Prizes of brand new phones were made at this session.

Awards for excellence were given to several attendees on behalf of the AFREE group.
