The much-anticipated PITO NITE 2024 was held on December 29, 2024, at the Ososo Cultural & Vocational Centre, bringing together an array of dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts, and performers. The event, a vibrant celebration of folklore and artistry, marked another milestone in promoting Ososo’s rich cultural heritage.
The occasion was graced by notable personalities, including HRM Oba Bamidele Obaitan, the Okuedu III of Ososo; Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje (Emilo); Dr. Afe Joseph Otaru, FIQS; High Chief Ajaga Buoro, the Patron; Dave Jegede, and many other distinguished guests.
The highlight of the night was the Folklore Challenge, which saw six talented contestants vying for cash prizes of ₦100,000 for the first position, ₦30,000 for the second, and ₦20,000 for the third. The contestants—Oyani Josephine Buoro, Ruth Dania, Vera Peters, Victoria Ajibola, Victor Samari, and Ita Ovieani—delivered captivating performances, reflecting the depth and beauty of Nigerian folklore.
After an intense competition, Vera Peters emerged as the star winner, claiming the grand prize of ₦100,000. The judges, comprising Rita Alao (Mikado), Lovina Abisoye, Nicholas Oyime Samuel, and Robert Abdullahi, commended all participants for their creativity and skill.
The event was further enlivened by electrifying performances from star artists, including Zealano, HakuZion, DSman, Young Omoh, and Dbaba Osha. Their energy and talent kept the audience entertained and created an unforgettable experience for all present.
Adding to the evening’s achievements was the launch of the 4th edition of PITO Magazine. The magazine, a significant cultural and literary milestone, highlights the essence of Ososo’s heritage and serves as a platform for storytelling and artistic expression.
