The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Tincan Island Port Strategic Command, has intercepted illicit drugs worth ₦134.2 billion. The 2024 operational results, unveiled during the command’s Media Briefing and Awards Ceremony in Lagos, highlight its efforts to disrupt drug trafficking, promote public safety, and secure the nation’s economy.

The agency seized 339,576.91 kilograms of narcotics, including codeine, tapentadol, cannabis indica, cocaine, and heroin, while arresting 38 suspects and securing 12 convictions. These achievements not only disrupted drug supply chains but also curbed crimes often fueled by drugs.

The command also launched community awareness campaigns under the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) initiative and introduced a quarterly newsletter to enhance transparency and stakeholder collaboration.

Recognizing excellence, the event honored officers and partners who demonstrated exceptional dedication. As drug trafficking trends evolve, the NDLEA remains committed to intelligence-driven operations, international collaboration, and technology deployment to ensure national security and a drug-free society.
