The Lagos State Police Command has been commended for its effective and peaceful oversight of the local government elections held across the state on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police (CP) Moshood Jimoh, the Command ensured a secure environment for voters, electoral officers, and other stakeholders during and after the polls. The elections, which took place across all local government areas of Lagos State, recorded no incidents of violence, voter intimidation, or disruptions.

In a statement released on Sunday, CP Jimoh reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He reiterated that Lagosians can always count on the police for protection, provided they remain law-abiding.

The State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) applauded the police for their professionalism and proactive measures. A notable show of force by officers and men of the Command before and after the election day served as a strategic deterrent to potential troublemakers and underscored the readiness of law enforcement agencies in Lagos.

The successful deployment and conduct of personnel during the elections further solidified public confidence in the capacity of the police to manage high-stake civic events in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
