The Nigerian Army has stepped up its operations across the country, recovering 158 cattle, securing the surrender of a terrorist family member and disrupting criminal activities in multiple states.
On September 2nd, 2025, troops of the 192 Battalion in Gwoza, Borno State, received the surrender of an adult female linked to ISWAP/JAS terrorists. She reportedly came from Chikide Village with ₦4,500 in her possession and was handed over to military intelligence for profiling.
In Zamfara State, troops at Forward Operating Base Danmarke responded to reports of terrorists rustling livestock in Kyairu Village. The swift response forced the criminals to abandon the stolen animals, which were later returned to local authorities.
Similar operations were recorded in Kebbi State, where troops working with a joint security team pursued armed terrorists after an attack on Gulma Village in Argungu LGA. The troops recovered 30 cattle and handed them over to traditional leaders for return to their rightful owners.
In Sokoto State, clearance operations in Sauna/Goboro Forest, Tangaza LGA, led to the recovery of 68 cattle after terrorists fled following contact with troops. The livestock were placed under the custody of community leaders.
Meanwhile, troops of Sector 6 Operation Enduring Peace intervened in Plateau State after reports of farm destruction. They secured 21 cattle found grazing unattended in Jos South LGA and 39 more in Riyom LGA.
The Army restated its commitment to denying terrorists and criminal groups freedom of action while ensuring the protection of lives, property and communities across the country.
