The Nigerian Army has announced plans to convene its Combined Third and Fourth Quarter Media Training Seminar for 2025, an initiative designed to strengthen collaboration with the press and enhance national security reporting.
The seminar, organized by the Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR), will run from October 6th to 10th, 2025, at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lt Col OA Anele, revealed that this year’s theme, Enhancing Responsible Media Reportage of the Nigerian Army’s Operations in a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment for Enhanced National Security, underscores the Army’s commitment to balanced, fact-based communication in a complex security landscape.
The week-long programme will draw participation from journalists, defence correspondents and communication experts. Discussions are expected to focus on promoting accurate reportage of military operations, improving civil-military relations and strengthening the fight against insecurity nationwide.
By fostering dialogue between the armed forces and the media, the Army hopes to encourage responsible storytelling that informs the public while safeguarding national interest.
