APPEAL FOR PEACE TO REIGN IN OSOSO KINGDOM

The people of Ososo Kingdom have continued to express deep concern and sadness over the recent dethronement of His Royal Highness, Oba Bamidele Obaitan, Olososo of Ososo Kingdom, Okuodu III, as announced by the Edo State Government under His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Across the community, there is a shared view that the process leading to this development did not fully reflect the principles of fairness and due hearing expected in matters involving a traditional ruler. Many citizens believe that the absence of an open inquiry or opportunity for the Monarch to respond has created a sense of unease and raised questions about the completeness of the process.

It is also widely noted that issues surrounding the Ososo stool are still before the courts. In light of this, several community members feel that allowing the judicial process to run its’ course would have helped maintain trust, clarity and balance in handling such a sensitive matter.

As a result, a growing number of voices within the Kingdom are appealing for a reconsideration of the decision and for the recall of His Royal Highness. This appeal is not confrontational but stems from a desire for fairness, peace and mutual respect between the government and the people.

Residents, elders and youths across Ososo are calling for calm during this period of uncertainty. Community leaders continue to encourage peaceful expression of opinions, reminding everyone that unity, patience and respect for established institutions remain essential.

As peace-loving citizens, the People of Ososo Kingdom and
the prevailing public sentiment is that Ososo Kingdom will remain steadfast, united and committed to lawful and constructive engagement as the situation unfolds. Many believe that with dialogue and understanding, the Kingdom will emerge stronger and more cohesive.
