A fatal crash along the Eleko–Jetty corridor in the Orimedu Mobile Filling Station area of Ibeju-Lekki on Friday has left four people dead and one injured, following a multiple-vehicle collision involving a tanker, an SUV and a commercial tricycle.

In a statement released by the Sector Public Education Officer, SRC Oluwadamilola Jayeola, on behalf of the Lagos Sector Commander, the FRSC confirmed that six persons were involved in the tragic incident. According to the statement, the crash claimed the lives of four of three male children and an adult male, while one person sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Excessive speeding was identified as the primary cause.

The FRSC noted that operatives responded immediately after receiving the distress call, but victims had already been moved from the scene by family members before their arrival. He emphasized the importance of responsible driving, urging motorists to shun excessive speeding and remain fully attentive behind the wheel.

He further cautioned drivers against all forms of distracted driving including phone use and unsafe multitasking emphasizing that road safety depends on deliberate, consistent compliance with traffic rules.
