Lawmaker pledges stronger representation at CAN thanksgiving

Mr Temitope Adewale, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has pledged improved representation through empowerment initiatives and support for economic reforms benefiting his constituents.
Adewale made the pledge at the third annual Thanksgiving Service, organised with the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ifako-Ijaiye Chapter, held in Lagos State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the service attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, clergy, supporters and well-wishers from across the constituency.
The gathering combined spiritual reflection with joyful worship, as hymns, prayers and songs of praise expressed gratitude for God’s faithfulness.
Adewale, who chairs the House Committee on Transportation, said his focus remained inclusive growth and delivering tangible benefits to residents.
He said the approach aligned with the state’s budget priorities on infrastructure, education and healthcare.
The lawmaker urged residents, especially youths, to partner with him in developing Ifako-Ijaiye.
“I will continue to represent you to the best of my knowledge and capacity,” Adewale assured.
He returned all glory to God, thanking supporters and reaffirming commitment to effective and exceptional representation.
Adewale described the thanksgiving as “a powerful testimony of grace, gratitude and dedication to good governance.”
He thanked community leaders, traditional rulers and supporters, calling them his pillar of support.
“Today is not about me but about God’s faithfulness in our lives,” he said, appreciating divine mercy throughout his political journey.
Delivering a sermon, outgoing CAN coordinator, Pastor Olabode Sobukola, congratulated Adewale on hosting another successful thanksgiving.
Sobukola described the event as a celebration of grace, divine preservation, good health and increasing responsibility.
He said many had died or faced illness, but God spared the lawmaker’s family and community to witness another season of gratitude.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Give Thanks to God For He Is Good,’ Sobukola urged politicians to remain intentional about thanksgiving.
Preaching from Ephesians Chapter 3, he praised Adewale as a supportive, diligent public servant and good ambassador.
The cleric said the lawmaker’s culture of gratitude remained the secret behind his success and inclusive governance.
He prayed that God would grant Adewale strength and grace to continue serving diligently.
A community leader, Pastor Sam Oluopajobi, prayed for good health and continuous progress in the community, state and nation.
APC member, Mr Akin Fadayomi, prayed for divine protection, guidance for youths and peace in Lagos State and the country.
NAN reports that youths under the Achievers Youth Forum vowed to support Adewale’s re-election in the 2027 general election. NAN
