The Nigerian Army Finance Corps (NAFC) held a colorful valedictory parade on Friday, February 6, 2026, to bid farewell to 10 retired senior officers at the Nigerian Army School of Signals Parade Ground, Apapa, Lagos. The ceremony was described by Special Guest of Honour, Major General Kamal Ishola Yusuf (Rtd), as one of the most dignified valedictory parades he had ever witnessed.
Major General Yusuf praised the military’s tradition and customs, saying they shape its discipline and ethos. The retired officers include Major General KI Yusuf, Major General AA Fayemiwo, and Brigadier General AS Maikano, among others.
The event was attended by serving and retired senior officers, former Chiefs of Army Staff, and other dignitaries. Highlights included a pulling-out parade, ceremonial march-past, and group photographs, followed by a reception with music, comedy, and cultural displays.
