Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Nigerian Army, has arrived in Liberia to attend the country’s 69th Armed Forces Day Celebration. He was warmly received by Major General Davidson Forley, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of Liberia.

In a statement, The Acting Director,Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele disclosed that the visit will strengthen Nigeria-Liberia military ties, with Shaibu inspecting a Guard of Honour and meeting embassy officials. He commended Nigerian diplomats for promoting bilateral relations and safeguarding Nigerian interests.

Shaibu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to defence diplomacy and regional security collaboration. He previously served as Military Assistant to Liberia’s former COAS and holds Liberia’s Distinguished Service Order honour for his contributions to the country’s defence sector.

The event commemorates Liberia’s military heritage and operational achievements, highlighting the Armed Forces’ role in national development and stability.
