The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, has convened a high-level security conference with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and recognised security stakeholders. The meeting aimed to review the security situation, strengthen operational coordination, and reinforce collaboration between the Police and community-based security organisations.
CP Adesola emphasised that vigilante groups must operate under Police supervision and coordination, with no independent right to bear arms or detain suspects. He warned that individuals with confraternity or criminal ties cannot effectively fight crime and urged vigilante members to renounce unlawful associations.
The Commissioner stressed the importance of unity, intelligence gathering, and timely information sharing among security groups to prevent crime. The conference concluded with renewed commitments to strengthen synergy and uphold professionalism, discipline, and adherence to the law.
CP Adesola reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property in Delta State, assuring residents of sustained and lawful security operations.
