The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Otunba Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (FCA, FCTI), has successfully convened a peace meeting between the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
The meeting, held at the Council Secretariat, aimed to ensure smooth transportation operations and effective use of modern parks and garages in the LCDA. The Chairman emphasized the need for harmony between the unions to achieve an organized transportation system benefiting all residents.
The NURTW delegation was led by Alhaji Jamiu Inabiri and Alhaji Kudeti, while RTEAN was represented by Alhaji Sulaimon, Omoyele Ayodeji Mauri, and Pero. The Chairman urged both associations to cooperate with the administration, noting that unity is essential for Ikorodu West’s development.
Council Manager, Engr. Okunowo Rotimi, and Vice Chairman, Hon. Adesegun Aluko, also supported the peace initiative. The meeting concluded with both unions pledging to collaborate with the Council for smooth transport operations.
