The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to AIG Olatunji Disu on his appointment as Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Association commends the President for this strategic appointment, citing IGP Disu’s professionalism, integrity, and capacity to lead. IGP Disu’s distinguished career showcases his commitment to service, with notable achievements as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, Head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), and Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the FCT, Abuja.
As Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, he strengthened investigative capacity and promoted professionalism. His participation in specialized training programmes has equipped him with expertise to confront emerging security threats.
The Association anticipates a renewed emphasis on intelligence-led policing, collaboration with security agencies, and adherence to the rule of law and human rights under IGP Disu’s leadership.
