The second day of the Gnosis Help Initiative’s three-day “Ìkòròdú È Dìde” campaign shifted the spotlight to Agric Bus Stop and its’ bustling environs on Thursday, February 26th, 2026. The awareness trail moved strategically around the bus stop, through the Ikorodu West LCDA gate area and into the adjoining market, transforming everyday commercial spaces into platforms for advocacy.
Led by the convener, Barrister Olumide Kayode Omosebi, the public address cut across language and cultural lines, with interpreters from the Gnosis Help Initiative delivering key messages in Yoruba and Igbo to ensure no resident was left out of the conversation.
Members of the International Federation of Women Lawyers and the Nigerian Bar Association who were in attendance described the initiative as timely, citing the high rate of documented domestic violence, sexual abuse and child abuse cases within the axis. They emphasized that sustained community engagement is critical to breaking the culture of silence that often protects perpetrators. Their presence reinforced the legal backbone of the campaign, assuring residents that reporting abuse can translate into real legal action and representation.
The Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Nigeria Police Force, Owutu Division, also appealed directly to residents to report cases promptly, urging them not to allow family ties, religious affiliations or social pressure to deter them from seeking justice. The response from residents and passersby was notably enthusiastic, with many inquiring about where and how to file complaints. As the momentum builds, the campaign moves into its’ final day tomorrow at the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu, sustaining what is quickly becoming a community-wide awakening against domestic and sexual violence.
