The Nigeria Police Force has launched a month-long nationwide online awareness campaign, “Real Odogwu no dey hide face”, aimed at strengthening digital security and promoting responsible online behaviour among Nigerians. The campaign seeks to educate the public on the growing threats of cybercrime and encourage proactive digital vigilance.

Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), CP Ifeanyi Uche Henry, highlighted the evolving nature of cyber threats, citing incidents of Identity Theft, Romance Scam, Business Email Compromise (BEC), Sextortion, and Phishing targeting Nigerian citizens. He urged citizens to adopt responsible online practices to safeguard their digital identities.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, commended international partners for their support, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in tackling cybercrime.

The public is urged to remain cyber-aware, verify information, and protect their digital identities.
