The Community Pharmacist Assessment and Career Progression Institute (CPACPI) has gained international recognition, with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) endorsing its framework for structured career progression in Nigeria and globally.
The CPACPI initiative aims to transform community pharmacies into clinical health hubs, providing a professional pathway for pharmacists to advance in their careers. The framework focuses on capacity building, quality improvement, and career band progression.
Key stakeholders, including government regulators, development partners, and private sector leaders, have pledged support for the initiative. The framework has been praised for its potential to strengthen healthcare delivery, improve job satisfaction, and address the shortage of skilled healthcare personnel in Nigeria.
The CPACPI model introduces four professional bands: Community Pharmacist, Senior Community Pharmacist, Senior Community Pharmacist Specialist, and Consultant Pharmacist. Advancement across these levels requires deliberate career development, objective assessment, and measurable professional competence.
The initiative has received endorsements from prominent leaders, including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).
