The Nigerian Navy Ship VICTORY has prevented the theft of a large quantity of diesel fuel from vessels docked at the Nigerian Ports Authority jetty in Calabar. Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team swiftly responded and disrupted the operation.
The team found that the stolen fuel had been moved to a nearby trailer park, where the suspects fled upon sighting them. The area was cordoned off, and the stolen products were recovered, including 12 drums of diesel, 59 gallons of diesel, and other items.
Approximately 3,950 liters of fuel were confiscated. The Navy team acted quickly to prevent the theft, and the incident is likely to be investigated further.
