The Baale of Ijagemo in Lagos, High Chief Olateju Jimoh-Balogun, has denied involvement in a dispute that led to the death of Charles Chimezie Nwachukwu. He stated that he was unaware of the incident until approached for mediation and has since referred the matter to the police.
High Chief Jimoh-Balogun expressed frustration over false implications, saying the incident occurred at a beer parlour far from his palace. He condoles with the family of the deceased and urges those aggrieved to seek justice through authorities, warning against taking laws into their own hands.
He emphasized that Ijagemo community remains peaceful, with residents coexisting harmoniously, and urged residents to continue daily activities as security agencies investigate and prosecute those responsible.
