The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant seizures and arrests in recent operations, including the interception of a large consignment of cocaine concealed in heads of imported dry stock fish. The operation, carried out at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, led to the arrest of a key member of the syndicate, 36-year-old Akputa Dickson Ejike, and the recovery of 237 wraps of cocaine with a gross weight of 5.80 kilograms.

In other operations, NDLEA seized 1.9 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in automobile filters, 40 ampoules of Morphine Sulphate, and nine ampoules of Fentanyl in UK-bound shipments. The Agency also arrested an 80-year-old grandpa, Oke Samuel, with 2.2kg of skunk and 1.8grams of methamphetamine in Ekiti state.

Other notable seizures include:
– 76.30kg of Ghana Loud, a strain of cannabis, from a female head of a notorious drug syndicate in Lagos
– 41kg of Ghana Loud from a suspect in Lagos
– 116.7kg of skunk from a suspect in Benue state
– 576.5kg of skunk and 33 bottles of codeine-based syrup in Edo state
– 135 kilograms of skunk concealed in bags of animal feed in Taraba state

The NDLEA has commended its officers for their efforts in combating drug trafficking and abuse.
