Pad Me A Girl Empowerment Foundation is celebrating its first anniversary, marking a year of promoting menstrual health and empowering vulnerable girls and women in Nigeria. The foundation commemorated the milestone with a humanitarian outreach at the Area 1 IDP Camp in Abuja, distributing sanitary pads, food, and educational materials.
In the past year, the foundation has reached over 10,000 girls and women across Abuja, Ogun, Benue, and Nasarawa States, providing menstrual hygiene education and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation. The foundation’s coordinators emphasized the importance of sustaining grassroots interventions and ensuring access to menstrual hygiene products.
The Convener, Theresa Moses, thanked volunteers, sponsors, and partners for their support, saying the foundation is “building a movement” to promote menstrual health and empower girls and women. The foundation plans to expand its programs and partnerships to reach more communities.
