The Nigeria Police Force marked its 2026 National Police Day with a grand parade and procession at the Eagle Square in Abuja, showcasing personnel from various units and commands. The event featured a ceremonial parade with other security agencies, highlighting inter-agency collaboration.

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending the police for their dedication and resilience. Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, emphasized the need for a more accountable and community-focused police force, assuring efforts to strengthen public trust.

Activities included a walkathon, community service, medical outreach, and welfare cheque presentations to families of fallen officers. The police reiterate their commitment to professionalism and protecting lives and property.
