A 27-year-old man, Chidi Ebere, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing a commercial motorcyclist, Sunday Ogbu, 36, in Igbesa, Ogun State. The incident occurred on April 8, 2026, when the suspect reportedly attacked the victim in an attempt to seize his motorcycle.
The police were alerted by a witness, and the suspect was apprehended immediately. The motorcycle and a knife used in the attack were recovered as exhibits. The victim was taken to the hospital but was confirmed dead by a doctor.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution. The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has condemned the act and assured that justice will be served.
