The Delta State Police Command has rescued two kidnap victims and killed two suspected kidnappers in a gun duel at Obulu-Uku Power Line, Ogwashi-Uku, on April 9, 2026. The police, supported by the military, had trailed the suspects to their hideout following a reported kidnapping incident in Ibusa and Enu-Ani Mega City.
Recovered items include an AK-47 rifle, 19 rounds of ammunition, and ₦4.2 million suspected ransom. The police are combing the area for additional arms and fleeing suspects.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives’ bravery and urged the public to continue providing credible information to aid investigations.
