The Ondo North Youth Alliance has formally endorsed Chief Abdul Tunji Mohammed as its consensus candidate for the Ondo North Senatorial District in the 2027 elections. The endorsement was announced on Saturday, 25 April 2026, during the Alliance’s expanded executive meeting in Ikare-Akoko, with youth leaders from all six LGAs in attendance. ONYA President, Comrade Ojo Bright Eniafe, said the decision was driven by ATM’s “clear vision for youth empowerment and economic transformation,” adding that “he understands that the youth are not leaders of tomorrow – we are leaders today.”
The Alliance praised ATM’s blueprint to tackle youth unemployment and rural-urban migration, including plans to establish skill acquisition and ICT training centers across Akoko, Owo, and Ose for training in tech, agriculture, fashion, welding, and digital enterprise. Eniafe also highlighted ATM’s proposal to attract factories and agro-processing zones to Ondo North to curb migration to Lagos and other states. “With factories here, we keep our youth here. We build our economy here,” he stated, citing ATM’s background in Finance, Real Estate, and Infrastructure Development as proof the plans are viable.
Responding to the endorsement, Chief ATM described it as “a call to greater service” and pledged to sponsor bills and attract federal interventions focused on youth employment, technical education, and industrial growth. “We will build the training centers. We will bring the factories. We will stop the forced migration of our youth,” he assured. ONYA urged all youth groups, student unions, and first-time voters in the district to unite behind ATM, calling him “the candidate with the brain, the heart, and the blueprint for the youth.”
