Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have carried out coordinated clearance operations against terrorist enclaves in Zamfara State as part of efforts to dismantle hideouts and restore peace. The offensive, launched in the early hours of 4 May 2026, targeted several locations including Maikwanuga village in Talata Mafara LGA and Aljumma, Gidan Dawa, Magami Didi, and Tungar Magaji villages in Maradun LGA.

During the advance, troops engaged terrorists in Tungar Magaji with overwhelming firepower, neutralizing two and forcing others to flee. A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle loaded with a 30-round magazine and one motorcycle.

Military authorities said the operations are part of a sustained campaign to clear terrorist hideouts within the Bagega–Sunke forest corridor and strengthen security for affected communities. Operation FANSAN YAMMA reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property and urged the public to provide timely, credible information to security agencies.
