The Ogun State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Chinese nationals and their investments following a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Chinese Consulate to the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. Led by Deputy Consular General Mr. Wang Yue, the visit aimed to deepen diplomatic cooperation and enhance security collaboration between both parties.
Commissioner of Police CP Bode Ojajuni highlighted the 55-year diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and China, noting the mutual benefits in trade, investment, and development. He assured the delegation of sustained police visibility, intelligence-led policing, and proactive measures around industrial corridors and investment hubs in the state. Ojajuni also drew on his experience as former Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Annex Lagos, to stress the importance of international law enforcement cooperation.
As part of the engagement, the Chinese Consulate donated communication equipment to boost the Command’s emergency response and operational coordination. Mr. Wang Yue commended the Command’s professionalism in maintaining peace in areas hosting Chinese businesses and presented a congratulatory letter to CP Ojajuni, reaffirming the Consulate’s confidence in his leadership and readiness for continued collaboration.
