Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, received officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja. The delegation was led by LASIEC Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, retired. They condoled with CP Fatai over the death of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Administration, congratulated him on his new appointment, and commended the Command’s proactive role during past elections.
LASIEC briefed the commissioner on councilorship by-elections scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Ibeju-Lekki LGA, Ward C; Ojuwoye LCDA, Ward H; and Somolu LGA, Ward F. The commission sought continued support and collaboration from the Lagos State Police Command to ensure peaceful, credible, and hitch-free polls across the affected areas.
CP Fatai welcomed the visit as a sign of institutional partnership and goodwill. He assured the delegation of adequate security deployment before, during, and after the elections. The commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order and guaranteeing a peaceful electoral process in all three wards.
