Security chiefs in Ogun State have carried out a high-level joint operational assessment and show of force across the Ogun–Ondo border corridor, including the Ogun Waterside areas of Iwopin, Abigi, and Ibiade. The exercise, conducted in collaboration with the Security Consultant to the Governor, CP Edward Ajogun (Rtd.), is aimed at consolidating gains from “Operation Kosaye” and sustaining the fight against crime. The team moved from Itele-Ijebu through the Ijebu Ode-Ore Expressway, covering J2, J3, J4, Atoyo, Agerige, Ogbere, Ibiade, Iwopin, Abigi, and ended at Ajebandele, the boundary community with Ondo State, where a full security assessment was done.
The operation brought together CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, Commissioner of Police Ogun State; Brigadier General J.O. Onu of 35 Artillery Brigade; DSS Director R.A. Adelakun, fsi+; NSCDC Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo; Amotekun Commander Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (Rtd.); So-Safe Commander Dr. Soji Ganzallo; and the Chairmen of Ijebu East, Ijebu North East, and Ogun Waterside LGAs. The team assessed vulnerable points, reviewed operational requirements, examined terrain, and strengthened inter-agency coordination. They also engaged community stakeholders to improve intelligence gathering and public participation in crime prevention.
CP Ojajuni praised the synergy among agencies and stakeholders, and reiterated the Command’s commitment to sustained joint patrols, intelligence sharing, and technology-driven policing. He said the show of force was to reassure residents, commuters, and road users of security presence and the agencies’ readiness to respond to threats.
