The General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, has urged the 2025/2026 graduating SS3 students of Command Day Secondary School, Ikeja, to lead with wisdom, integrity and discipline as they step into the next phase of life.
Speaking during the Valedictory Service and Prize-Giving Ceremony on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, at TA Lagbaja Cantonment, Ikeja, the GOC, represented by the Commander 9 Brigade, Brigadier General AO Owolabi, said the theme “Making Responsible Choices in a Changing World” was a reminder that decisions made now will shape their future and impact on society. He encouraged the students to uphold the values of patriotism and leadership taught in Command Schools, and congratulated prize winners, noting that success comes from perseverance, character and continuous self-improvement.
Earlier, the School Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel AO Akindele, described the session as highly successful, with outstanding results in academics, sports and leadership. He highlighted the school’s feat as Overall Best School at the 2026 81 Division Inter-Command Secondary Schools Sports Competition, and thanked the GOC, Corps Commander Education Brigadier General YD Ahmed, education authorities, PTA, parents and other stakeholders for their support.
The ceremony had in attendance senior military officers, government officials, traditional rulers, alumni and parents. Highlights included prize presentations, cultural performances, unveiling of the yearbook, souvenirs, cutting of the graduation cake and group photographs.
