Command Secondary School, Ipaja, Lagos, celebrated academic excellence, leadership and resilience at its 2026 Speech and Prize-Giving Day and graduation ceremony held at the school’s sports arena. Themed _“Rising Beyond Limits,”_ the event brought together military officers, traditional leaders, parents, educators and guests to honor graduating students and reward outstanding performance in academics, leadership and extracurricular activities.
Representing the GOC 81 Division, Major General A. A. Babalola, the Commander 81 Division Garrison, Brigadier General A. I. Getso, commended the school’s progress and applauded the graduates for their discipline and commitment. He urged them to remain focused, honest and resilient as they transition to higher education and careers, while appreciating parents, teachers and administrators for their role in shaping responsible young leaders. School Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel O. T. Olagbande, described the graduating class as proof of the school’s dedication to academic excellence and character building, and thanked staff and parents for their unwavering support.
Guest lecturer Pharmacist Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf challenged the students to embrace adaptability, continuous learning and innovation in a fast-changing world. The highlight of the day was the presentation of prizes to graduating students and other high achievers across academics, leadership and co-curricular activities. The ceremony was also attended by Brigadier General Y. D. Ahmed, represented by Colonel R. Aliyu, Director of Command Secondary School Services; the Royal Father of the Day, HRH Chief Taofeek Adulagba, Regent of Ajasa Kingdom; Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Lucky Ogah Osamudiamen; and representatives of the Nigerian Army Engineers Corps.
