Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly responsible for recent killings, armed robberies and cult activities in Ajah and surrounding areas. The arrests followed intensive follow-up on a robbery case in the axis.
The suspects were identified as Kareem Abiodun, 26; Tansiru Emmanuel, 29; Lateef Usman, 28; and Alashe Azeez, 32. Items recovered from them include three locally made pistols, one live ammunition, two battle axes and one POS machine. According to police, preliminary findings link the group to robbery operations in Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki. The suspects have also made confessional statements admitting involvement in armed robbery, murder and cultism.
They are currently in custody assisting with investigations, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other gang members and recover more exhibits. Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for the operation and urged them to sustain the push.
