81 Division Nigerian Army has won the Nigerian Army Small Arms Championship (NASAC) 2026, securing six of the seven trophies with 2,084.3 points.
Army Headquarters Garrison placed second with 1,787.6 points, followed by 3 Division in third with 1,522.3 points, among 10 formations that participated in the championship held in Ogun State.
Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by Head of Service Olarewaju Saka, and the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, represented by Maj. Gen. Olusegun Abai, said the exercise is critical for enhancing marksmanship, operational readiness and tackling contemporary security threats. The GOC 81 Division, Maj. Gen. Adebayo Babalola, said the victory reflects rigorous training and the COAS command philosophy of professional excellence.
