The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been told by the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, to immediately end its current industrial action.

The Appellate Court ruled that this was the only stipulation necessary to grant the union’s request to appeal the National Industrial Court’s earlier decision ordering it to end its strike.

However, the court allowed the application with the condition that the union abide by the lower court’s decision and immediately halt the strike action pending the outcome of the substantive suit.

The court gave ASUU seven days to file the appeal after it was ordered to abide by the Industrial Court’s earlier decision.
