*Police Officer Embarks on Massive infrastructural development
Omu Aran, a once crime-ridden community in Kwara State, is witnessing a significant turnaround following the appointment of ACP Muazu Ismail as the Area Commander.
Previously plagued by armed robbery and kidnapping, the area has seen a drastic reduction in crime, thanks to his proactive leadership and commitment to security and development.
The town was notorious for violent crimes, including armed attacks on First Bank and Access Bank, which claimed the lives of innocent residents, including a pregnant woman. However, with ACP Ismail’s arrival, a new era of safety and progress has emerged.
ACP Muazu Ismail introduced a community policing strategy that has strengthened the relationship between law enforcement and residents. By engaging with community leaders, stakeholders, and the public, he has fostered trust and cooperation, leading to more effective crime prevention.
A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, praised ACP Ismail’s leadership, saying:
“His approach has restored confidence among residents. He is always engaging with the people and ensuring that security concerns are promptly addressed. Crime has reduced significantly under his watch.”
Upon assuming office on July 27, 2024, ACP Ismail wasted no time in addressing the deplorable state of the Omu Aran Area Command office. His efforts include:
Renovating the police headquarters, fixing leaking roofs, cracked walls, and outdated electrical wiring.
Installing modern restroom facilities with functional water supply.
Providing essential office equipment, including tables, chairs, shelves, refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions, and fans.
Enhancing security with a dual rotating solar CCTV camera and 20 units of solar street lights.
Repairing and restoring three previously grounded patrol vehicles, ensuring effective policing.
Additionally, the police command now boasts four serviceable patrol vehicles, including a Hilux donated by Dr. Bishop David Oyedepo, Chancellor of Landmark University, Omu Aran.
Residents now enjoy peace of mind, with armed robbery, kidnapping, and other criminal activities drastically reduced. Community members report feeling safer, with the police actively patrolling and engaging with the public.
“Before now, sleeping for even four hours was a luxury due to fear of attacks. Today, we can enjoy a full night’s rest, thanks to the Area Commander’s commitment,” a local resident testified.
