ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, the National Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), has been elected as the Public Relations Officer of the 13th Basic Stream Short Course on Strategic Leadership, Ethics, and Policy Making (SLEAPM) with an impressive 40 votes.
Her emergence as the Public Relations Officer underscores her leadership acumen, strategic communication skills, and dedication to fostering ethical governance and policy reforms. ACP Okuwobi, a seasoned law enforcement officer, has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at curbing cultism and other societal vices through strategic public engagement and advocacy. Her new role within the SLEAPM program further solidifies her position as a key voice in leadership and policy discussions in Nigeria.
The SLEAPM Course 13, organized by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in collaboration with the Leadership and Professional Ethics Consult, brought together over seventy high-ranking professionals from both the public and private sectors. This intensive training program was designed to equip participants with critical leadership skills, ethical decision-making frameworks, and policy development strategies to navigate the complexities of governance and institutional management.
The program emphasized the importance of raising strategic and ethical leaders capable of driving positive change in their respective organizations. It also highlighted the necessity of embedding core ethical values in institutions, reinforcing governance structures, and ensuring that national policies undergo rigorous expert reviews before implementation to prevent policy failures.
Throughout the one-week course, participants engaged in high-level discussions on strategic leadership, governance efficiency, public ethics, and national development policies. The course featured professionals from various government agencies, including the Presidency, state ministries, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies such as NECO, NAFDAC, NPA, and NBS.
