Michael Olomu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency in Bayelsa State, has given flood victims in the area’s Sagbama Local Government Area products worth millions of naira.
According to a statement released by his media office on Sunday, Olomu personally visited the area over the weekend and gave relief supplies to lessen the suffering brought on by the flood. He had been moved by the suffering of the vulnerable people.
The lawmaker also paid sick patients in the hospitals in the Sagbama Local Government Area communities of Bulou-Orua, Adagbabiri, and Sagbama visits.
Food supplies including garri, rice, noodles, salt, and seasonings were among the donations.

The ailing patients at the Sagbama General Hospital also received mosquito nets and water sachets.
According to the announcement, the Amananaowei, Magbisa Ozor, the CDC chairman, Wilson Ezuwe, and the Youth President, Shadrack Ebigberi, accepted the Sagbama relief supplies on behalf of the community.
Also at the Adagbabiri village, the relief supplies were accepted on behalf of the community by Brodrick AIaowei Oki, the Amananaowei, Oyinkebebe Ekiye, the Chairman of Community Development, and Didigha Perekemebinaoyagha, the Youth President.
The flood management committee, the head of the CDC, and the youth president received the relief supplies at the Bulou-Orua neighborhood.

“On Friday, October 14, 2022, at around 4:00 p.m., I made the trip from Port Harcourt back to Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to celebrate my birthday with family, friends, well-wishers, and most importantly, the good people of Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, whose homes, lives, and livelihoods have been devastated by the flood.
Despite being informed that the storm had subsided and cleared when we arrived in Ahoada, Rivers State, the flood met us head-on.
I observed individuals utilizing tippers and trucks to assist in their crossing and questioned, “Why not?” I had serious responsibilities at home, after all.
“I boarded a tipper to travel to Mbiama because that was the only way out; however, my driver turned around and returned to Port Harcourt.
I had to wade in fairly murky water for about 20 minutes after that. I saw old people, newborns, exhausted ladies, but most depressingly, I saw suffering, pain, and terror. Those who were gracious enough to communicate with me during our brief conversations all expressed the same emotion.

Imagine how many individuals would be left without a house, aid, or even hope!
