The Nigerian Army has intensified its operations across the country, recording major gains between 1st and 5th September 2025. Troops neutralized four terrorists, arrested 64 suspects, rescued kidnapped victims, recovered weapons, ammunition and logistics in multiple theatres.
In the North East, Troops of the 117 Task Force Battalion, supported by Civilian JTF and vigilantes, engaged terrorists at Yimurmuze in Chibok LGA, Borno State, killing one and seizing an AK-47 rifle, a magazine and 24 rounds of ammunition. The 159 Battalion in Geidam, Yobe State, neutralized another terrorist, recovering an AK-47 rifle, two magazines and ammunition.
In Adamawa’s Askira Uba, the 115 Task Force Battalion arrested eight suspected cattle rustlers, seizing a Dane gun, cartridges, knives, bows, arrows and phones. Troops also discovered improvised explosive devices in New Marte, disrupting terrorist activity.
From the North West, In Katsina State, the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA and ground forces struck terrorist hideouts at Zango, with intercepted communications confirming up to 15 terrorists killed and others fleeing with injuries.
In Sokoto State, troops of the Chief of Army Staff Intervention Battalion arrested two terrorist informants and logistics suppliers in Gudu LGA.
Across the North Central, Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE in Logo LGA, Benue State, neutralized one armed herder and recovered an AK-47 rifle with ammunition. In Niger State’s Mariga LGA, joint air and ground operations rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered 28 rustled cows.
From the South-South, In Rivers State, troops uncovered 35 sacks of illegally refined petroleum products (about 1,750 litres) and arrested one suspect despite resistance from bunkerers.
In Delta State, soldiers working with the NDLEA arrested three drug peddlers in Sapele, seizing cocaine, tramadol and other illicit substances. In Oshimili South LGA, troops arrested two suspected IPOB/ESN members linked to IED production.
Other Operations recorded were in Kaduna State, where 19 suspects were arrested in Unguwan Dosa, Rigasa, Mando, Tudun Wada and environs.
Lagos, Plateau and FCT had armed robbers, kidnappers, and drug peddlers apprehended, with firearms, ammunition and illicit substances recovered.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorists and criminals, noting that these efforts will enhance community safety, strengthen food security and support national stability.
