Prophet Ezekiel Olaniyi Adeoti, is a revered servant of God and the General Overseer of Trust In The Lord Jesus Ministries, was born in 1948 in Agbonda, Irepodun local government area, Kwara State, Nigeria. His life story is a compelling journey from ancestral idolatry to prophetic anointing; a testament to divine transformation, faith, and purpose.
Born into a family deeply rooted in traditional religious practices, young Ezekiel’s earliest years were shaped by the tender care of his grandmother, who raised him from the age of four months. Though surrounded by the rituals of his grandfather, a herbalist, Ezekiel was never subjected to the physical toils of farm life. Instead, he was doted upon, often accompanying his grandfather to the farm not for labor but for lavish meals. Symbolic, perhaps, of the spiritual nourishment he would later offer multitudes.
His father, the first Christian convert in the family and a professional palm wine tapper, who changed profession from palm tapper to a successful businessman in importation of travel bags and some other products in Lagos , instilled in him the value of education despite humble circumstances. Prophet Adeoti began his education at Saint Stephen’s Anglican Primary School, where missionary-run incentives like akara and eko helped deepen his early Christian exposure. He later attended Esie/Iludun Grammar School, graduating in 1971. Although he had the opportunity to further his education, he opted instead to join the workforce, believing his father’s moderate success was enough to lean on.
His early professional life began at African Continental Bank (ACB) in Ibadan, where he distinguished himself by passing the UK-based Association of Insurance and Banks (AIB) exams with honors. His brilliance earned him commendations from ACB headquarters in Lagos and fast-tracked promotions. However, his life took a dramatic turn following the death of his father. Family pressures to manage his father’s business pulled him into a season of personal and spiritual unrest.
It was during this turbulent period that he encountered the redemptive power of Christ in a deeper dimension. Introduced to Christ Gospel Apostolic Church (CGAC) by a cousin, Prophet Adeoti began to experience the manifestations of a divine calling. His prayers were anointed, his words carried deliverance, and he was ordained an Elder. Yet, this rising grace also stirred envy, culminating in resistance from fellow church leaders. A powerful deliverance from epilepsy in a young boy, instead of earning admiration, led to isolation, another divine signpost guiding him toward destiny.
He later joined the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), seeking deeper spiritual clarity. Prophet Adeoti had several visions and trances that served as divine blueprints. One vivid vision showed him in line to receive a gift, but when his turn came, he was handed only a paper with the words: “Get ready to serve.” Despite attempts, he was never able to personally share these revelations with MFM’s General Overseer, Dr. D.K. Olukoya. Still, the message was clear. God was calling him out to a unique assignment.
Reluctant at first, Prophet Adeoti tried his hand at various business ventures, but each one mysteriously failed. In desperation, he once challenged God, proposing to build a cathedral where offerings and tithes would not be collected. God’s response was swift and sobering: “You will be a thief in My eyes if you defraud My principles.” Humbled and enlightened, Prophet Adeoti yielded.
In another revelatory trance, he stood alone in a church, dejected by a seemingly unresponsive audience. It was here that God revealed the name of his ministry, first as “Trust In God Ministry” , and eventually, due to registration processes, as “Trust in the Lord Jesus Ministries”. That moment sealed his covenant with God.
In 1998, his full time ministry journey began with intense fasting and prayer on a holy mountain in Ibadan. Visions flowed. A golden-covered Bible with a matching pen, a Bible adorned with the flags of nations, and scriptures from Revelation 6 as his prophetic manual. On May 26, 1998, during one of these encounters, God made a covenant with him. One as enduring as the sweetness of honey.
From humble beginnings at 1A Abule Ijesha Road, Yaba, Lagos, his father’s former compound, the ministry began in a modest corner, while MFM house fellowship meetings still took place nearby. Over time, structures were extended and the ministry became wholly devoted to deliverance and prophetic healing. Despite lacking formal theological training or Bible school attendance, Prophet Adeoti’s ministry has been marked by divine revelations, powerful deliverances, and soul lifting prophetic utterances.
His marriage to Mrs. Dorcas Oluwakemi Adeoti in 1979 has been a cornerstone of his journey. Together, they are blessed with seven children.Six surviving and thirteen grandchildren. Their children, including Folake, Pastor Tunde, Damilola, Lola Ola- Adeoti,, Nike, Barr. Tolu and Busayo are actively involved in the ministry and flourishing in their various fields.
Prophet Adeoti continues to envision greater outreach. A relocation plan to Bariga, Lagos is underway, alongside renewed focus on educational and spiritual development through the ministry’s resuscitated prayer school. Though two early church branches did not thrive, he views them not as failure, but as divine refinement.
For leisure and reflection, Prophet Adeoti now finds solace in the Word and in family life, having learned through experience that not all who wear the cloak of clergy walk the path of righteousness. He deeply respects and draws spiritual inspiration from notable men of God such as Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dr. D.K. Olukoya and Pastor W.F. Kumuyi of Deeper Life Bible Church.
