Driving Cassona’s mission in West Africa is the desire to improve the quality of healthcare delivery in the region through the provision of affordable medical imaging equipment to healthcare institutions, ensuring that equipment is deployed efficiently by training healthcare professionals on its use, and providing technical support and maintenance services for the machines to prevent downtime.
As part of the company’s commitment towards achieving its mission, Cassona provided credit facilities to help healthcare partners who are unable to afford an outright purchase acquire the machines and pay back at agreed timelines. To this, the Chairman and CEO of Cassona, Dr. John Chigbu, said, “Over 9% of our sales is on credit and we have not had one default.”
Within three years of inception, the company has successfully installed and provided support for approximately 140 medical diagnostic imaging equipment in Ghana, a signal of the company’s dedication to its mission.
As a key part of the mission, “Cassona Edge”, the Cassona mobile academy provides hands-on training on the use of medical imaging diagnostic equipment to medical professionals. And have successfully trained several healthcare professionals on the use of medical diagnostic imaging machines both in Ghana and Nigeria.
Added to these, Mr. Chigbu announced that Cassona has also ventured into the construction of hospitals and diagnostic centers, which he termed “Experience Centers”.
“There’s a reason for that. We want you to experience what it looks like to go to a real radiologist or radiology company and see the kind of service and equipment you get”, he said.
Calls for Partnership
The Abia State Health Commissioner, Professor Ogbonnaya Uche, commended the company and likened its achievements in the diagnostic imaging solutions business in three years to the performance of the Alex Otti led government in the state’s health sector in the last two years, and appealed that healthcare brands with the “capacity to deliver” like Cassona partner with the state government to take affordable healthcare to people in the hinterlands of the state.
Commenting on Cassona’s work, Kemi Ogunyemi, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Health described Cassona’s business model as a unique all-in-one solution that combines equipment sales with full support, and ensures customers won’t have to worry about anything.
