Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, CEO of CEOAFRICA, and Mr. Emmanuel Umenwa, MD of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, have been honoured with the National Outstanding Leadership Performance Award (NOLPA) by the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS). The recognition was given during NAPS’ 44th Inaugural Senate Sitting on July 11, 2025, in Ibadan.

Ilobanafor was named “Most Student-Friendly MD in Nigeria” for his support of polytechnic education, while Umenwa was applauded for his one billion naira investment in the Geneith Health Competition (GHC). The initiative, the first of its kind in Africa, engages students in secondary and tertiary institutions to fight malaria through awareness and innovation.

With Nigeria accounting for 27% of global malaria cases, the GHC, launched by Health Minister Muhammad Ali Pate, aims to mobilize youth as change agents. The initiative empowers students to tackle public health issues while promoting community-driven solutions.

Registration for the competition is ongoing at www.geneithhealthcompetition.com.
