GOVERNOR Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, yesterday, promised to abide by the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the chairmanship crisis rocking the party.
Governor Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, disclosed that he is not with anyone but the constitution of the party.
He noted that as a governor of the party, he aligned with the decision of the PDP Governors’ Forum on the matter.
He said: “I stand by the Constitution of our great party which spelt out the succession procedure in case of the exit of an elected chairman.
“I also stand by the resolution of the PDP Governors’ Forum of which I am an integral part.
“Our party must adhere to its Constitution at this critical time and at all times. That is the way to build a responsible political party.”
