In a bid to strengthen the Nigerian Navy’s operational and financial capabilities, the Chief of Naval Engineering, Rear Admiral Baratuaipri Iyalla, paid a courtesy visit to the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Saheed Adeshina Akinwande, on Friday, April 25, 2025.
The high-level meeting focused on fostering innovative strategies to enhance the Navy’s efficiency and self-reliance. Rear Admiral Akinwande highlighted key areas within the Command that present opportunities for growth and development. In response, Rear Admiral Iyalla stressed the importance of diversifying funding streams, advocating for the exploration of commercial initiatives to support impactful naval projects.
The event also brought together other senior officers, including the Fleet Commander, Eastern Fleet, and the Commander, Fleet Support Group, further reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the engagement.
